Ministerial Intervention Requests

Ministerial Intervention Requests

Ministerial intervention is applicable if:

  • You have had your visa application reviewed and decided by the Migration review tribunal (MRT) or Refugee Review Tribunal (RRT) or
  • You are in detention (regardless of whether or not you have had your visa application reviewed by the tribunals)

You may write to the Minister for Immigration requesting them to consider issuing a visa for you in "public interest". There is no obligation for the minister to consider such requests. However, any compassionate/ humanitarian and exceptional circumstances may be considered for using his/her discretion.

As professional migration agents, we can assist in writing a letter requesting the minister to intervene in your migration matter if applicable.
