Kalgoorlie Goldfields DAMA Program Update

The Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder has been updated upon reaching an agreement with the Australian Government. Below is a rundown of the changes that has been put in place:

• 72 occupations are eligible for sponsorship under the program in its first year. The Goldfields DAMA program will have around 125 occupations eligible for sponsorship this year.

• Businesses that are actively operating in the Goldfields region including the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the Shires of Coolgardie, Dundas, Esperance, Leonora, Menzies and Ravensthorpe can access the DAMA.

• There is an age limit of 49 years old (cannot have turned 50) for Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa holders aspiring to access the permanent residence pathway through the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS).

Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) concessions are available for the following occupations:

• Aged or Disabled Carer

• Agriculture and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator

• Beef Cattle Farmer

• Child Care Worker

• Family Day Care Educator

• Meat Boner and Slicer

• Nursing Support Worker

• Personal Care Assistant

• Shearer

• Slaughterer

The Goldfields DAMA provides access to the following occupations listed below that are not included in the Australia and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupation (ANZSCO):

• Asphalt Technician

• Process Technician

• Rope Access Technician

• Sound and Light Technician
